What an eye exam costs in California
The registry holds no prices, so nothing here is a quote. The nearest published figure is $95, the median starting exam fee across the 1,280 US retail optical stores that print one on their own store pages (30 September 2026). For a national benchmark somebody does publish, Medicare pays $149.64 for a comprehensive new-patient exam (CPT 92004). California has too few stores publishing a fee for a state median to mean anything, so this page quotes none rather than estimating one.
